Mission

Avant Chamber Ballet’s mission is to bring exceptional live dance and chamber music together for audiences in Dallas and Fort Worth.

Our ensemble of classically trained dancers presents a diverse repertoire of classical and contemporary works from local choreographers, as well as internationally acclaimed artists.

Since our inaugural season in 2012, ACB has presented over fifty world premiere ballets. The organization is in its tenth season, and is led by artistic director Katie Puder with a subscription season at Moody Performance Hall, Dallas Arts District.

Vision

At Avant Chamber Ballet we are passionate about two things -

First - creating new and relevant works of performing art here locally in Dallas.

Second - to perform those works of art for our community - both at the wonderful theaters we have built in the Dallas Arts District but also to bring that art to Dallas communities that don’t normally attend traditional performances.

We are committed to presenting our free classes, workshops and performances all over Dallas and meeting people in their neighborhoods to make art easily accessible for everyone.

We truly believe that our art should reflect the city of Dallas and that what we create belongs to everyone, not just traditional patrons of the arts.

Diversity Policy

Avant Chamber Ballet recognizes its talented and diverse staff, board, and artists as a key competitive and artistic advantage.

Our success as an organization is a reflection of the quality and skill of our people. Avant Chamber Ballet  is committed to seeking out and retaining the finest talent to ensure continued artistic growth.

Organizational diversity benefits our artists, our board, and our audiences. We recognize that each board member and artist brings their own unique capabilities, experiences and characteristics to their work. We value such diversity in all that we do, whether on stage or behind the scenes. Avant Chamber Ballet believes in treating all people with respect and dignity. We strive to create and foster a supportive and understanding environment in which all individuals realize their maximum potential within the organization, regardless of their differences. We are committed to hiring the best people to do the best job possible. We recognize the importance of reflecting the diversity of our community and of our audience.

Avant Chamber Ballet embraces diversity in many forms, and welcomes input from people of different ethnicities, genders and gender expressions, languages, ages, sexual orientations, religions, socio-economic statuses, physical and mental abilities, thinking styles, experiences, and education. We believe that the wide array of perspectives that results from such diversity promotes innovation and artistic creativity. Being committed to diversity makes us more creative and flexible and allows us to challenges ourselves, our audiences, and our community.

As responsible members of our community, Avant Chamber Ballet recruits volunteers and artists from all backgrounds. We believe that a diversity of experience and opinion contributes to artistically vibrant and culturally relevant performances and community outreach.
